Bonus programme – Motel One Incentives
Guest satisfaction pays off! All Motel One employees can improve their salaries through our bonus program. The amount of the bonus depends on guest satisfaction in the employee's hotel. The better the guests rate their stay, the higher the bonus! For example, employees in Germany can earn up to € 1,300 gross per quarter and department heads up to € 2,000 gross per quarter (amounts vary depending on country and currency).
Motel One also pays extra for working nights and on public holidays. There's no unpaid overtime. Overtime hours are recorded in the staff roster and can be taken off at a later point.

Team events
We know how to celebrate! We work together to ensure Motel One flourishes, so we celebrate our accomplishments as a team too. Each Motel One location puts on a summer social and a Christmas party, but hotels in the same city also often celebrate these together. These occasions are organised by the local teams, so can take many different guises: boat tours, Bavarian-themed soirées, rockabilly parties – you name it, we’ve done it.
And there is the annual One Cup football tournament contended by teams from every region: but while competition on the pitch is intense, the Motel One teams all carouse together afterwards. Motel One COO Daniel Müller is always there giving 100% both as player and cheerleader.

Employee participation
At Motel One, employees are a priority and their ideas and opinions are taken seriously. We aim to work together to shape the future of the hospitality industry, so every year we conduct a staff survey: ‘One Emotion’. This gives the whole personnel a chance to assess the company, set out criticism and present suggestions for improvement and innovation.
All Motel One staff across Europe can network on our in-house social intranet ‘My One’, and share images, stories and news.

Employee discounts

Motel One, of course, has locations right across Europe, and the One Team can stay in any of them at reduced employee rates. In Barcelona, we’re opening the first Motel One within walking distance of the beach.
For even more recuperation options, all Motel One personnel can take a break in the two resort hotels that are part of the Motel One group: the Golf Resort Achental near Chiemsee and Kitzhof in Kitzbühel, Austria.

One Dresscode
Motel One has stringent design standards, and this high-class Motel One Design is reflected in our uniforms as well as in our One Lounges and rooms.
We’ve abolished dreary standard uniforms, and annually issue new mix-and-match turquoise pieces, making up a stylish ‘One Dresscode’. Typical items include chic cardigans, roll-neck jumpers, tie-neck blouses, and chinos, bow-ties and waistcoats.
New pieces always reference current fashions, and can be combined to suit the basic items that each employee is issued with on joining. We enjoy diversity – in turquoise!
